ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's soccer team (2-3-7) welcomes its third ranked opponent to U-M Soccer Stadium on Tuesday (Oct. 17) when No. 6Â Notre Dame (8-1-3) comes to town for a 7 p.m. contest that will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• Michigan has earned back-to-back shutouts in its last two outings, including grabbing a point in Big Ten Conference standings against No. 19 Michigan State in a scoreless draw.
• U-M takes on its third ranked opponent of the season when it welcomes No. 6 Notre Dame. Earlier this season, the Wolverines earned a 1-1 tie against then-No. 9 Akron and most recently played to a scoreless draw against No. 19 Michigan State.
• Freshman goalkeeper Isaiah Goldson has started the last seven games in goal and has notched three shutouts. Goldson has a .794 save percentage and ranks fourth in the Big Ten with his 27 saves on the season.
• The Wolverines have started at least five true freshmen in all 12 matches and have played nine true freshman overall this season. Michigan has both Matthew Fisher and Will Baker starting on the backline and Goldson in goal, while Duilio Herrera, Joao Paulo Ramos and Alex Waggoner have all earned at least three starts on offense.
