
NCAA Championships Await Michigan Men

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 23-ranked University of Michigan's men's cross country team will travel to Charlottesville, Va., for the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday (Nov. 18). The men's 10k race is scheduled for 11:10 a.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPNU and the ESPN app.
Notes
• U-M will face off against the best cross country teams from around the country, including Big Ten opponent No. 5 Wisconsin and regional foes No. 8 Butler and No. 21 Notre Dame.
• Saturday will be the second time the Maize and Blue will compete at Panorama Farms this season after placing 14th at the Virginia Invitational.
• Head Coach Kevin Sullivan will bring his best nine runners with seven competing on Saturday. The roster includes four All-Region honorees in graduate student Tom Brady, graduate student Nick Foster, graduate student Owen MacKenzie and sophomore Luke Venhuizen.
• Brady is Michigan's leading returner (60th, 29:51.1) from last year's NCAA Championships. Brady has paced the Wolverines in every race he has started this season, including a third-place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Nov. 10.
• Foster bounced back in the Great Lakes Regional, finishing 16th overall with a time of 30:10.1 in his first 10k race of the season.
• In his regional debut, MacKenzie clocked a time of 30:11.7 to place 18th and earn All-Region recognition.
• Venhuizen finished 24th last week in Madison, Wis., with a time of 30:18.9 to earn his first career All-Region honor.
• Caleb Jarema has finished fifth or better on the team in all of his starts in 2023, highlighted by an 11th-place finish (24:39.0) at the Big Ten Championships on Oct. 27.
