
U-M to Return to Wisconsin for NCAA Great Lakes Regional

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 25-ranked University of Michigan men's cross country team will travel to Madison, Wis., for the second consecutive meet as it battles familiar foes in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday (Nov. 10). The 10k race from Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course is set to start at 12:30 p.m. CT.
Notes
• The Wolverines will race in Wisconsin for the second consecutive meet and third time this season, most recently placing second at the Big Ten Championships on Oct. 27.
• Michigan will send nine runners to Madison, including graduate student Tom Brady who finished third overall at the Big Ten Championships with an 8k time of 24:18.9 to earn All-Big Ten First Team honors.
• Owen MacKenzie placed eighth overall with a time of 24:36.9 at the Big Ten Championships to land on the All-Big Ten second team.
• Caleb Jarema rounded out the conference award winners for the Wolverines, earning All-Big Ten second team recognition and winning Michigan's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. Jarema finished 11th at the Big Ten Championships with a mark of 24:39.0.
• One addition to the roster for Friday's meet is Zach Stewart. Stewart has competed only once this season, running in the B race at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invite on Oct. 13 and clocking a 26:19.2 to finish 84th overall.
• The final two scorers at the Big Ten Championships -- Nathan Lopez and Luke Venhuizen -- will run at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. Venhuizen logged a time of 24:56.3 and Lopez finished just three seconds behind at 24:59.1.
• This will be the first time Michigan will compete in an NCAA Regional race at Wisconsin since 2019.
