Notes
• Michigan returns home to play its fifth home game of the early season. The Wolverines have played six games on the road and leave early next week to face Florida in the Jumpman Invitational in Charlotte on Tuesday (Dec. 19).
• U-M leads 28-3 in the all-time series against Eastern Michigan, including a 24-3 record in Ann Arbor. Last season, U-M and EMU played at Little Caesars Arena in downtown Detroit. Behind Hunter Dickinson's 31 points and Terrance Williams II's double-double (18 points, 11 rebounds), U-M won 88-83. EMU's Emoni Bates had 30 points.
• In the last game at Crisler Center nine years ago (Dec. 9, 2014), EMU edged out U-M with a second-half rally to claim a 45-42 victory. The Wolverines shot 32.6 percent from the field and 19 percent from long range. U-M has played only one game in Ypsilanti. The Wolverines won 86-63 (Dec. 9, 1998) in the EMU dedication game for its new arena -- then-Convocation Center.
• The game with Eastern Michigan is part of a doubleheader with the U-M women's basketball team. Before the men's game, Kim Barnes Arico's squad will play Miami (Ohio) at 11 a.m.
• With seven games of 80-plus points (three of 90-plus), Michigan is averaging 82.1 points per game, which ranks third in the Big Ten. Despite it still being early in the season, the Wolverines have not averaged above 80 points per game since the 1992-93 season (81.94) -- the freshman season for Juwan Howard and the Fab Five.
• With two more rebounds, Olivier Nkamhoua will reach 500 in his collegiate career. After 427 at Tennessee, he has led U-M with 7.1 boards per game this season with nine games of five-plus, six of seven-plus and three of 10-plus with a season-best 11 against Long Beach State (Nov. 17).
• Dug McDaniel is slowing on his climb to reach 200 assists (173), as he needs 27. There have been 38 Wolverines to reach 200 at U-M. Howard, who had 202 in his three seasons (1992-94), ranks No. 38 on Michigan's all-time list. The last Wolverine to hit the 200 assist mark was Eli Brooks, who finished with 313 during his five seasons (2018-22) with the Wolverines.
• McDaniel has scored in double figures in all 10 games and leads the Wolverines averaging 18.6 points per game. He leads the team with five 20-plus point games including his career-best of 33 at Oregon (Dec. 2).
• Williams needs eight points to reach 500 in his U-M career. Overall, there have been 128 Wolverines to reach the milestone. So far this season, he has posted eight double-figure games and is averaging a career-best 11 points per game.
• Will Tschetter has had 12 rebounds over his last two games -- a career-best six each against Indiana (Dec. 5) and at Iowa (Dec. 10). Those 12 boards nearly equal his prior season output of 13 (eight games). Tschetter is 12-for-17 (70.6 percent) on three-pointers.
• With 12 blocks over his last six games, Tarris Reed Jr. leads U-M with 15 blocks. He finished last season with a team-best 31 (34 games).
