
Wolverines' 800 Performance Anchors Strong Finish at Duke Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team finished its stay at the Duke Invitational on Saturday (April 8) at Morris Williams Stadium with the Wolverines taking a 1-2-3 finish in the 800 meters.
Aurora Rynda finished in first place, running 2:04.76, besting teammates Sam Tran, who finished second in a career-best 2:07.87 -- shaving more than a half-second off her previous best, and third-place Cassie Kearney, who finished in 2:09.85. Teammates Alyna Lewis (14th, 2:12.55), Amber Gall (22nd, 2:14.08) and Eleni Daughters, (30th, 2:17.79) finished in the top 30.
Trinity Henderson and Delaney Stersic performed well for the Wolverines in the 400 meters with Henderson finishing 13th in 57.70 seconds and Stersic right behind in 14th in a time of 57.82.
Michigan will return to action split-squad action in California. Thursday thru Saturday (April 13-15) will see the Wolverines in Torrance for the Mt. SAC Relays and in Azusa for the Bryan Clay Invitational. On Friday and Saturday (April 14-15), the Wolverines also will compete at the Beach Invitational in Long Beach.
