
U-M to End Three-Meet Homestand Hosting Michigan Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team will host the final of three straight meets with the Michigan Invitational on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 26-27) at the U-M Indoor Track Building. Action is set to begin at noon on Friday (Jan. 26) and 11 a.m. on Saturday and admission to both days is free.
Notes
• The Wolverines are coming off their first meet win of the season, defeating Penn State, Michigan State and Purdue at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational on Jan. 20.
• Dubem Amene set his second straight record of the season, setting the 400-meter run meet record with a time 46.17 seconds to win the event. Amene's mark was sixth-fastest time in the NCAA.
• Tom Brady ran a personal-best 7:58.06 in the 3,000-meter run, recording the No. 13 time in the NCAA as well as the No. 7 time in program history.
• U-M earned 15 points in both the 600- and 800-meter runs after capturing first and third places in both events. Miles Brown won the 600m with a time of 1:17.10, the No. 3 time in the NCAA, while John O'Reilly finished third with a personal-best time of 1:18.61 and the No. 9 time in program history. In the 800m, Camden Law saw a first-place finish (1:50.78) and Trent McFarland finished third with personal best time (1:51.22).
• In the 60-meter hurdles, the Wolverines took two of the top three spots after a second-place finish from Benny Diaz (8.21) and a third-place finish from Adam Wright (8.32).
• Berachiah Ajala and Tianhao Wei led the jumpers' performances, with Ajala finishing third in the long jump (7.05m/23 feet, 1.75 inches) and second in the triple jump (14.93m/48 feet, 11.75 inches); Wei finished fourth in the long jump (7.00m/22 feet, 11.75 inches) and won the triple jump (15.36m/50 feet, 4.75 inches). Wei's triple-jump mark was a personal best and the No. 25 mark in the NCAA as well as the No. 9 mark in program history.
• Eli Winter recorded a personal-best weight throw mark of 20.56m (67 feet, 5.5 inches) to win the event, contributing nine points with the No. 30 mark in the NCAA. Zane Forist's fifth-place finish (18.55m/60 feet, 10.5 inches) contributed four points.
