Notes
• The Wolverines are 10-5-1 on the season after dropping a pair of games last weekend at newly minted No. 1 Minnesota. Michigan is now ranked eighth in the USCHO poll and sits ninth in the Pairwise rankings with the third-toughest schedule in the nation.
• In the lopsided Big Ten standings, in terms of games played, Michigan sits tied for fourth place with 11 points in six games, the least played by a Big Ten team to date. Wisconsin has played four more games than Michigan and has 15 points in 10 games, the most league games played.
• Wisconsin is 6-9-1 on the season and 4-6-0 in the Big Ten. The Badgers split last weekend with then-No. 1 Michigan State at home to earn votes (four) in the USCHO poll this week. Offensively, Wisconsin is led by Quinn Finley, who has 20 points (11 goals, nine assists) in 16 games and Gavin Morrissey with 16 points (four goals, 12 assists) in 16 games. In net, the Badgers have been relying on Tommy Scarfone, this week's Nig Ten First Star of the Week, who is 5-5-1 with a 2.24 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage.
• Michigan leads 90-68-14 the all-time series with Wisconsin. The Wolverines lost both games at the Kohl Center last season, in a series that ended the season of Jackson Hallum. Before that, Michigan had won five straight against the Badgers.
• Michael Hage leads the nation's rookies in points per game, averaging 1.31, and ranks eighth in the nation overall. Hage has scored nine goals and eight assists for 17 points in 13 games. Evan Werner follows in the scoring column with 13 points (six goals, seven assists), followed by T.J. Hughes with 12 points (five goals, seven assists) and Garrett Schifsky with 11 points (six goals, five assists).
• Michigan splits playing time in net between veteran fifth-year goaltender Logan Stein and rookie Cameron Korpi. Stein sports a 6-3 record, a .897 save percentage and a 2.96 GAA. Korpi has a 4-1-1 record with a .900 save percentage and a 2.69 GAA.
• This will be the first time that William Whitelaw will face his former team. Last year as a Badger, Whitelaw collected 17 points in 37 games. This year, he has eight points in 14 games, increasing his points-per-game production in his sophomore season.
• Michigan and Wisconsin's power plays rank 15th nationally at 23.2 percent. The Wolverines penalty kill is at 83.9 percent, first in the Big Ten, while Wisconsin is last in the nation at 71.1 percent.
