
Wolverines Distance Squad Set for Friday's GVSU Holiday Open

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field program will open the 2024-25 season at Grand Valley State's GVSU Holiday Open on Friday (Dec. 6), with the distance squad set to compete. U-M's first event starts at 2:16 p.m. inside the Kelly Family Sports Center in Allendale, Mich.
Notes
• The first event of the day for the Wolverines will be the third heat of the 5,000-meter run at 2:16 p.m. The first heat of the 5,000-meter run invite section at 9 p.m. will close out the meet.
• Nine Wolverines from the distance squad are set to take to the track for their first competition of the season.
• Sophomore Camden Law is set to return to the lineup, posting the No. 8 800-meter run time (1:48.89) on the program performers list last season. Trent McFarland, who holds the No. 9 800-meter time (1:49.50), is also set to compete.
• Akili Parekh and Nathan Lopez are set to make their indoor debuts.
