
Michigan to Travel to Cincinnati, Open Home Season Against No. 4 Denver

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 10-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team (1-0) travels to Cincinnati (0-1) on Wednesday (Feb. 14) at 3 p.m. before opening the 2024 home campaign against No. 4 Denver (1-0) on Saturday (Feb. 17) at noon at U-M Lacrosse Stadium.
Notes
• U-M moved up two spots in the IL Women/IWLCA Poll to No. 10 after defeating Jacksonville 19-1 in the season opener (Feb 10).
• Junior Jill Smith picked up against Jacksonville where she left off in 2023, scoring four goals and adding two assists for a six-point outing, while Kaylee Dyer and Jane Fetterolf both recorded hat tricks in the opener.
• Michigan spread out the offense in the opener with 10 different goal scorers. In addition to the hat trick performance from Smith, Dyer and Fetterolf, Caroline Davis and Ceci Stein had two goals each, while Ava Class, Josie Gooch, Lily Montemarano, Calli Norris and Peyton Shreves found the back of the net once.
• Junior Erin O'Grady made her first career start against Jacksonville and had eight saves, while Grace Callahan led the defense with three caused turnovers and three ground balls and Maddie Burns had four draw-control wins.
