
U-M Set to Compete at Big Ten Indoor Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team will open its postseason slate at the Big Ten Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 23-24). Action at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio, will begin 11:30 a.m. on both days, and the two-day event will be streamed live on B1G+.

• Wolverine athletes to watch at the Big T en Championships include Dubem Amene in the 400-meter dash, Miles Brown in the 600-meter run, Nick Foster in the mile, Tom Brady in the 3,000-and 5,000-meter runs and the distance medley relay team.
• U-M is coming off a record-setting weekend, with the DMR team of Trent McFarland, Amene, Brown and Foster setting the program standard of 9:19.33 at the Notre Dame Alex Wilson Invitational on Feb. 17.
• The Maize and Blue finished sixth at the 2023 Big Ten Indoor Championships, scoring 54 total points.
• U-M saw one individual champion last season in Amene (400-meter dash, 46.61 seconds), with the distance medley relay team of Oli Raimond, Amene, Henry Johnson, and Foster (9:33.83) also claiming a title.
• Two Wolverines earned podium finishes, with Foster finishing second in the mile (4:13.58) and Johnson placing third in the 800-meter run with a career best time of 1:47.91.
• The team earned points in other events, including seven from Tom Brady (3,000-meter run, 7:55.67; 5,000-meter run, 14:11.98), four from Berachiah Ajala (triple jump, 15.56m/51 feet, 0.75 inches), and four points from Arjun Jha (5,000-meter run, 14:16.09).
• Amene, Foster, Cole Johnson, and Raimond were named All-Big Ten first team following their performances.
