
Michigan to Conclude Regular Season at Home Against Purdue

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team (17-12, 8-9 Big Ten) concludes the regular season on Sunday (March 3), hosting Purdue (12-16, 5-12 Big Ten) on Senior Night at Crisler Center. The game is set for 7 p.m. and can be seen live on FS1.

• Michigan will honor Elissa Brett, Lauren Hansen, Whitney Sollom, Elise Stuck and Cameron Williams prior to the game as part of Senior Night. The trio of Sollom, Stuck and Williams has been part of 81 wins at Michigan, the 2021 Sweet 16 and 2022 Elite Eight. The ceremony will begin at 6:45 p.m.
• U-M is wrapping up the regular season with its first home game since Feb. 18, hosting Purdue at Crisler in the lone meeting this season between the teams. Entering the final day of Big Ten action, Michigan is tied for seventh at 8-9 in conference play. The game between Michigan and Purdue is the final game to tip off on the final day of play.
• Michigan and Purdue are meeting for the first time this season and the first since an 80-59 Michigan win in West Lafayette, Ind., on Jan. 10, 2023. The teams have faced each other just once in each of the last seven seasons. The last time Michigan and Purdue played a home-and-home series was during the 2015-16 season. The Wolverines have won the last four games between the teams and nine of the last 13 in the series.
• The Wolverines are looking for their ninth Big Ten win of the season, entering the game tied for seventh in the Big Ten. The Wolverines have won at least nine conference games in each of the last eight seasons, dating back to the 2015-16 season. Michigan can earn the No. 6, No. 7, No. 8 or No. 9 seed for the upcoming Big Ten Tournament. With a win, U-M will be either the No. 6 or No. 7 seed, depending on results earlier in the day on Sunday.
• The game will feature three Australia natives in Brett (Adelaide), Chyra Evans (Newcastle, NSW) and Purdue's Abbey Ellis (Melbourne).
• Michigan is third in the Big Ten in rebounding margin at +5.8 and second in offensive rebounding at 12.7 per game. When Michigan wins the rebounding battle, the Wolverines are 15-5 on the season. When Michigan is outrebounded, the Wolverines are just 2-7 after getting a win at Penn State (Feb. 3). Purdue enters the game 12th in the conference in rebounding margin at -0.4.
• Four of Michigan's regular starters have upped their scoring average in Big Ten play. Laila Phelia is averaging 17.4 points per game in conference play, up from her season average of 16.1 points per game. Hansen is up to 12.2 points per game from 11.7 points per game, with Jordan Hobbs in double figures at 11.4 points per game from 10 points per game. Evans rounds out the quartet up to 7.1 points per game in Big Ten action from 6.4 points per game in the regular season. Williams, who has started five of Michigan's 16 Big Ten games also has upped her average to 7.7 points per game from her season average of 6.8.
• Michigan will head to Minneapolis next week for the Big Ten Tournament. U-M will begin action on Thursday (March 7).
