
Maize and Blue to Head to Boston for NCAA Indoor Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team will send five Wolverines -- Dubem Amene, Tom Brady, Miles Brown, Nick Foster and Trent McFarland -- to Boston, Mass. for the NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday (March 8-9) at the Track at New Balance. The championships will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Notes
• Amene will run the 400-meter dash as the runner-up in the event at the Big Ten Championships, finishing in 46.53 seconds. The senior set the program record in the event, 45.75 -- the 15th-fastest time in the NCAA this season -- at the Tiger Paw Invitational hosted by Clemson.
• Brady, who finished third in both the 3,000-meter (7:57.85) and 5,000-meter runs (13:58.15) at the Big Ten Championships, will run the 5,000-meter in Boston. The graduate student holds the school record in the event, running 13:24.16 at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational, posting the No. 11 time in the NCAA.
• Foster will run the mile, finishing third (4:06.22) in the event at the Big Ten Championships. The graduate student holds the school record for the event, running 3:54.48 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational for the No. 12 time in the NCAA.
• The distance medley relay team will feature McFarland, Amene, Brown and Foster, with the group posting a school-record time of 9:19.33 -- the No. 5 time in the NCAA -- at the Notre Dame Alex Wilson Invitational. The DMR finished second (9:43.96) at the Big Ten Indoor Championships, just 0.01 seconds behind first-place Wisconsin.
• Semifinals for the mile will begin on Friday (March 8) at 4 p.m., with the 400-meter dash semifinals set for 4:30 p.m. Finals for the mile and 400-meter dash will be Saturday (March 9) at 4 p.m. and 4:20 p.m., respectively.
• The 5,000-meter finals will be at 5:20 p.m., and the DMR finals will be at 6 p.m., both on Friday.
