
Wolverines to Hit the Road to Face Penn State, No. 1 Ohio State

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's tennis team (12-10, 6-0 Big Ten) heads into its final road matches of the regular season when it takes on Penn State (4-16, 0-5 Big Ten) on Friday (April 12) at 4 p.m. and No. 1-ranked Ohio State (23-1, 5-0 Big Ten) on Sunday (April 14) at noon.
Notes
• Michigan is in a tie for first place in the Big Ten with Ohio State and Michigan State at 6-0, both of which are future opponents over its final three regular-season matches.
• The Wolverines are 32-8 in the all-time series with Penn State and have won the last five matches. The Nittany Lions are 4-16 overall and 0-5 in the conference standings.
• Michigan owns a 76-46-2 lead in the all-time series with Ohio State, but the Buckeyes have had a 35-7 mark since 2000. The No. 1-ranked team in the country is 20-3 overall and 5-0 in the Big Ten.
• Jacob Bickersteth was named the Big Ten Player of the Week on Wednesday (April 10). He went 4-0 last weekend, sweeping both of his No. 2 singles matches and both No. 1 doubles matches with partner Gavin Young. Bickersteth's straight-set win over Indiana's Facuno Yunis on Friday (April 5) was his 50th career dual singles win.
• No. 17-ranked Young has won his last six singles matches and is 9-6 at No. 1, 4-0 in the Big Ten and 15-10 overall. This year, Young is 10-8 against ranked opponents, including a straight-set win over OSU's JJ Tracy in October.
• Will Cooksey has gone unbeaten in singles since conference play started, sitting at 5-0. He is 9-8 in dual singles matches and 13-13 overall on the season. Nicholas Steiglehner has won his last four matches and boasts a 10-6 dual singles record and is 17-12 overall on the season.
• No. 24-ranked Young and Bickersteth are 6-0 in the Big Ten as a doubles pair. They are 18-9 overall and 11-7 in dual play. Their six-match win streak is a career best for Bickersteth. Young had a 13-match win streak last season.
• Mert Oral and Bjorn Swenson have lost just one doubles match since conference play began. As a pair, they are 7-2 including a victory at No. 2 this past Sunday.
