
Michigan Set for Wake Forest, Jim Green Invitationals

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team will split the weekend between two meets, heading to Winston-Salem, N.C., for the Wake Forest Invitational on Friday (April 19) and Lexington, Ky., for the Jim Green Invitational on Friday and Saturday (April 19-20).
Notes
• The Maize and Blue will send the distance squad to the Wake Forest Invitational while the rest of the team will compete at Kentucky. Action in Winston-Salem is set to begin at 7:30 a.m. with the 5,000-meter run. In Kexington, field competition is slated for 1:30 p.m. with the hammer throw, and the track portion is set for 5:25 p.m. with the 200-meter dash. Saturday's (April 20) field competition is slated to begin at 11 a.m. with the shot put, while track events start at 12:50 p.m. with the 4x100-meter relay.
• The Wolverines are ranked No. 1 in the Great Lakes Region by the USTFCCA for the fourth straight week. The 800-meter run squad remained at No. 4 in the event squad rankings.
• Last weekend in Gainesville, Fla., Tianhao Wei jumped a personal-best 15.27m (50 feet, 1.25 inches) to finish sixth while Berachiah Ajala finished seventh (15.15m, 49-8.5). Wei's mark is No. 8 in the program history.
• Eli Winter finished third in the hammer throw with a mark of 65.64m (215-4). Zane Forist competed in two events, throwing 55.00m (180-5) to win the discus throw and finishing fourth in the shot put with a personal-best 17.05m (55-11.25).
• In the 400-meter dash invite section, Dubem Amene finished 10th with a season-best time of 45.72 seconds.
• In the 800-meter run, Trent McFarland finished 19th in 1:49:13, Camden Law finished 24th with a personal-best time of 1:49.50 and Henry Johnson finished 32nd with a time of 1:50.12.
• Arjun Jha and Anthony Hancock each posted season-best times in the 1,500-meter run, finishing sixth (3:43.88) and 14th (3:48.45), respectively.
