
Ammenhauser Sets U-M Triple Jump Record at Jim Green Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The No. 21-ranked University of Michigan women's track and field team concluded competition at the Jim Green Invitational on Saturday (April 20), with Riley Ammenhauser's record-setting triple jump performance highlighting the day.
Ammenhauser entered the triple jump finals in second place, jumping 12.54m (41 feet, 1.75 inches; -0.1m/s) on her first attempt and fouling on her next two attempts. Ammenhauser's fourth jump came in at 12.66m (41-6.5, +1.2m/s) to put her in first place before her final attempt of 13.06m (42-10.25, 0.5m/s) sealed the win and the new program standard. The junior broke Casey Taylor's record of 12.95m (42-6, -0.5m/s) set in 2009.
In the heptathlon, Mia Manson finished second with 4,967 points for the No. 9 mark in program history, setting a personal best in the 100-meter hurdles (14.90).
U-M went 2-3-4-5 in the shot put, with Maria Deaviz taking second (16.58m, 54-4.75), Elizabeth Tapper taking third (16.35m, 53-7.75), Corinne Jemison taking fourth (15.86m, 52-0.5), and Trinity Franklin tying for fifth (15.35m, 50-4.5).
Lucy Petee placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:11.95 while Lisa Luecke placed sixth with a time of 2:17.26.
In the 5,000-meter run, Abby Bonnema finished second (17:13.51), Leah Hill finished fifth (17:23.11), and Gabbie Michael finished seventh (17:27.04). All three Wolverines saw personal bests.
The Wolverines will head to Philadelphia for the Penn Relays, next Thursday through Saturday (April 25-27), and hosting the Len Paddock Invitational on Saturday (April 27).
