CollegeSoccerNews.com Team of the Week (Nov. 1) -- Freshman Alex Waggoner earned CollegeSoccerNews.com Team of the Week honors after scoring two goals in Michigan's two victories this past week. He scored the game-winner against Cleveland State off a pass from Bryce Blevins before scoring his team-leading fifth goal of the season against Northwestern in U-M's 3-0 win. Big Ten Players to Watch (Aug. 21) -- Seniors Bryce Blevins and Quin Rogers along with junior Jason Bucknor have been named 2023 Big Ten Players to Watch.
Blevins, a 2023 team captain, has appeared in 46 career matches with 38 starts. The midfielder has totaled 15 points (four goals, seven assists) and led Michigan lst season with five assists -- including two against Penn State. Blevins also ranked second on the team in 2022, logging 1,308 minutes on the pitch.
Rogers, a two-time Big Ten Player to Watch, has appeared in 38 career matches with 37 starts in the midfield. He started 14 matches in 2022 and tallied five points with two goals and one assist, including the game-winning goal against Detroit Mercy.
Bucknor has started 20 matches in the backfield for Michigan and was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week las season. The defender appeared in 14 matches and made 10 starts a season ago and scored one goal against Indiana.
