ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's soccer team stood tall against No. 9 Notre Dame for the first 62 minutes of the contest before giving up a pair of second-half goals to fall 2-0 to the Fighting Irish on Thursday evening (Aug. 29) in front of 1,563 fans at U-M Soccer Stadium.

U-M survived several attempts off a corner kick in the 23rd minute to keep the Irish off the board. It was much of the same four minutes later as Notre Dame tallied another two shots off a corner kick that Michigan turned away to keep the game scoreless.
Ella Jablinskey ripped a shot on the left side in the 30th minute that the Notre Dame keeper just got a hand on to send it over the goal in Michigan's last best chance of the first half as the teams hit halftime scoreless.
