
Wolverines to Return to Crisler to Host Washington

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team (11-5, 2-3 Big Ten) returns to Crisler Center for the first of two straight at home, hosting Washington (12-5, 3-2 Big Ten) on Wednesday (Jan. 15). Tip is set for 7 p.m., and the game will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• Michigan snapped a three-game losing streak last time out, leading wire-to-wire in an 87-60 win at Purdue (Jan. 11). It was the eighth time this season that Michigan has scored at least 80 points, with the Wolverines going 8-0 in those contests.
• This marks the seventh time that the Wolverines and Huskies have met, with the contest marking the first as conference foes. The series is tied at 3-3, with Washington's last trip to Ann Arbor coming in 2004 -- a 76-68 Michigan win. The teams last met in the 2018 Gulf Coast Showcase, with U-M taking an 80-73 victory.
U-M is 7-1 at home this season after having its seven-game win streak snapped last week. Michigan is averaging 89.6 points per game at Crisler Center while allowing just 54.8 points per game.
• Michigan is the only team nationally to have a pair of freshmen averaging at least 15 points per game. Olivia Olson (15.9 ppg) ranks eighth nationally in scoring by a freshman, with Syla Swords (15.6 ppg) coming in at No. 10. Olson has led Michigan in scoring eight times, with Swords taking the honors five times.
• Jordan Hobbs will make her 100th career appearance in Michigan's contest against the Huskies. She will become the 50th Wolverine to hit the century mark.
• The game between Michigan and Washington features the best three-point field-goal defense against the best three-point shooting team. U-M is at the top of the Big Ten in three-point field-goal percentage defense, allowing opponents to shoot just 25.1 percent from distance. The Huskies enter the game as the best three-point shooting team, leading the league at 35.9 percent.
• Michigan hit 10 triples in its 87-60 win at Purdue (Jan. 11), marking the first time this season Michigan has hit double-digit three-pointers in a Big Ten game. It was the third time overall that U-M hit at least 10 triples after going for 11 against Central Michigan (Nov. 14) and a season-high 12 at Akron (Dec. 20).
• Michigan completes a two-game homestand on Saturday (Jan. 18), hosting Rutgers at noon. It is Discount Day, with tickets available from $1-3.
