
Maize and Blue Closes Out Crossroads of America Invitational

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team concluded its competition at the Crossroads of America Invitational with a pair of first-place winners and several top-10 finishes on Saturday (Jan. 25) at Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion.
Trent McFarland saw his second sub-four-minute mile, finishing first with a time of 3:59.72, while Aiden Sullivan finished third with a personal-best time of 4:06.92.
Five Wolverines finished in the top 10 of the 800-meter run, with Camden Law finishing first (1:49.04), Brendan Herger finishing third (1:49.54), John O'Reilly finishing fourth (1:50.04), Miles Brown finishing sixth (1:50.42), and Henry Johnson finishing seventh (1:50.68). O'Reilly's performance was a personal best.
Freshman Josh Huisman also saw a personal best, throwing for 17.50 meters (57 feet, 5 inches) in the shot put to finish seventh. Huisman's mark is the second-best for the Maize and Blue this season.
In the triple jump, Berachiah Ajala finished third with a mark of 15.25m (50-0.5) and Tianhao Wei finished sixth with a mark of 14.98m (49-1.75).
The 4x400-meter relay team of Lawrence Gilliam, Brown, Jack Juds, and O'Reilly earned a third-place finish with a time of 3:11.52. The time is the second-best for U-M this season.
Michigan will remain on the road for the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 31-Feb. 1) in Lousiville, Ky.
