
Maize and Blue to Honor Senior Class at Michigan Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team will honor its 17 seniors and graduate students when it hosts the Michigan Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 8) at the U-M Indoor Track Building. Field events will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the long jump, while track events will start at 11:30 a.m. with the 60-meter hurdles preliminaries. Senior day recognition will occur following the conclusion of the meet.

• The Wolverines are coming off a strong performance at the Crossroads of America Invitational on Jan. 24-25 in Indianapolis, Ind.
• Corey Royster set a personal-best time of 21.58 seconds in the 200-meter dash to tie for ninth on the program performer's list. The mark comes in at No. 24 in the conference. Jack Juds also set a personal best with a time of 21.92.
• Camden Law finished first in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:49.04, the No. 13 time in the Big Ten and 0.09 seconds shy of his personal best. John O'Reilly's personal-best time of 1:50.04 earned him a fourth-place finish and comes in at No. 24 in the league.
• Trent McFarland posted his second sub-four-minute mile with a time of 3:59.72 to come just 1.1 seconds from tying his personal best.
• U-M posted six finishes in the top 10 of the 3,000-meter run. Luke Venhuizen finished second (8:04.30), Peter Baracco finished third (8:04.79), Nathan Lopez finished fifth (8:05.66), Ian Hill finished seventh (8:07.52), Heath McAllister was eighth (8:09.03) and Nolan Clark finished ninth (8:09.28). Venhuizen, Baracco, Hill, McAllister, and Clark all set personal bests. Venhuizen's time is a season best for the Wolverines and is No. 15 in the Big Ten, while Baracco, Lopez and Hill's times are 16th, 20th, and 25th, respectively.
• Graduate transfer John McNeil posted a season-best performance in the long jump with a mark of 7.36 meters (24 feet, 1.75 inches), the No. 14 mark in the conference.
• Freshman Josh Huisman threw for a personal-best 17.50m (57-5) in the shot put, the second-best mark for a Wolverine this season and the No. 18 Big Ten mark.
• Eli Winter (19.88m/65-2.75) and Jake Steslicki (19.26m/63-2.25) saw season-best marks in the weight throw, the No. 13 and 22 marks in the league, respectively.
