
Wolverines to Trek to Wisconsin to Face Badgers

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team (14-6, 5-4 Big Ten) will hit the road again, heading to Wisconsin to face the Badgers (10-10, 1-8 Big Ten) on Wednesday evening (Jan. 29) at 6:30 p.m. CST.
Notes
• Michigan saw its four-game winning streak come to an end last time out, falling to No. 21-ranked Michigan State at Crisler (Jan. 25). U-M is 3-2 following a loss this season. The Wolverines are looking for their third Big Ten road win of the season after recording wins at Purdue and No. 23 Minnesota.
• Wisconsin leads the all-time series, 41-36, but Michigan has won 13 of the last 14 games between the teams. U-M is 16-2 against Wisconsin under head coach Kim Barnes Arico.
• Michigan has hit the midway point of the Big Ten schedule, going 5-4 over its first nine games. The Wolverines are ninth in the conference behind their 5-4 record. U-M has already faced five of the eight teams ahead of the Wolverines in the standings, including the top four teams.
• U-M enters the contest ranked sixth in the conference in scoring, averaging 79.7 points per game, with Wisconsin ranking 17th at 64.9 points per game.
• Michigan is the only team nationally to have a pair of freshmen averaging at least 15.0 points per game. Olivia Olson (15.9 ppg) ranks ninth nationally in scoring by a freshman, with Syla Swords (15.4 ppg) coming in at No. 13. There are only 13 freshmen nationally averaging at least 15.0 points per game. There have only been five freshmen in program history to average at least 15.0 points per game during their first season in Ann Arbor:

• U-M hit 11 triples in its 70-65 win at No. 23 Minnesota (Jan. 22), marking the third time this season Michigan has hit double-digit three-pointers in a Big Ten game. It was the fifth time overall that U-M hit at least 10 triples after going for 11 against Central Michigan (Nov. 14), a season-high 12 at Akron (Dec. 20), 10 at Purdue (Jan. 11) and 10 against Rutgers (Jan. 18). On the season, U-M is averaging 7.7 three-pointers per game on 35.3 percent shooting.
• Michigan has four players scoring in double figures in Olson (15.9 ppg), Swords (15.4 ppg), Jordan Hobbs (13.0 ppg) and Mila Holloway (10.6 ppg).
• U-M will return home to host Oregon on Sunday (Feb. 2) in its annual Pink Game. The game is set for noon at Crisler Center. Â
