
Michigan to Open Home Slate Against No. 16 Ohio State

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 19-ranked University of Michigan women's gymnastics team (4-2, 1-1 Big Ten) opens its 2025 home season Friday (Jan. 31) against No. 16 Ohio State (2-3, 1-1 Big Ten) at 6:45 p.m. at Crisler Center. The meet will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• The Wolverines are 19th in the Road to Nationals rankings and are inside the top 25 on vault, balance beam and floor exercise. Individually, graduate student Carly Bauman in No. 16 on uneven bars.
• U-M earned its first conference victory of the season in its first-ever Big Ten meet at Washington. The Wolverines led the entire meet and notched a decisive 195.525-194.975 victory over the Huskies. Michigan also took home individual event titles on vault, uneven bars, beam and in the all-around.
• The trio of Carly Bauman, Kayli Boozer and Jacey Vore scored 9.900s on the beam against Washington to earn a share of the title. The win was the second straight on beam for Vore, while Bauman earned her first beam title of the season and Boozer earned the first of her career. Boozer also notched her first career 9.900 in the event.
• Sophomore Ava Jordan has found her place in the U-M vault and uneven bars lineups as she continues to improve weekly. She has hit every meet on both events, including four straight meets of tying a career-best 9.825 on the uneven bars. Jordan also ranks second for the Wolverines with a career-high 9.875 on vault against Michigan State.
• Freshman Jahzara Ranger has taken home an event title in all four meets this season as she captured her first career all-around title at Washington. The freshman tied for third on both the vault and uneven bars with matching 9.825s and recorded a 39.150 in the all-around.
• Freshman Sophia Diaz captured her second vault title of the season with a career-best 9.900. Diaz also made her floor debut at Washington, scoring a 9.825 for the Wolverines.
• Fans will have four more chances to catch the Wolverines in action at Crisler Center. Michigan will host three regular-season meets against Nebraska, UCLA and Alabama before hosting three sessions of the Big Ten Championships in March.
• U-M remains at Crisler Center to open the month of February, welcoming Nebraska to Ann Arbor on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 12:45 p.m.
