
Wolverines to Head to Michigan State for Big Ten Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich.-- The University of Michigan women's cross country team will open the postseason at the Big Ten Championships hosted by Michigan State on Friday (Oct. 31). The 6K meet, to be held at the Forest Akers East Golf Course in East Lansing, starts 11:35 a.m. and will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network.
Notes
• The Wolverines closed out their regular season with the EMU Fall Classic last Friday (Oct. 24), with Coraline Haggarty and Alyna Lewis placing in the top 10.
• Haggarty (18:04.2) and Lewis (18:05.6) posted personal-best performances to finish eighth and ninth, respectively.
• Caroline Beiting, Stephanie Bertram, Gabbie Michael and Katelyn Watkins are expected to make their Big Ten Championships debuts in East Lansing.
• Michigan finished ninth at the 2024 Big Ten Championships at Illinois, scoring 262 points.
• Penelopea Gordon led the Wolverines with her 23rd-place finish and a new personal-best time (19:53.4). Mary Caroline Heinen finished in 50th place (20:17.8), followed by Kayla Windemuller in 61st (20:26.3). Jadyn Zdanavage's personal best 20:34.0 landed her in 68th place.
