
Wolverines to Head to Pacific Northwest for B1G Matchups at Washington, Oregon

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan volleyball team (19-8, 9-7 Big Ten) travels to the West Coast this weekend to face Washington (11-15, 6-10 Big Ten) and Oregon (15-11, 8-8 Big Ten). The Wolverines face Washington on Thursday (Nov. 20) at 7 p.m. PT at Alaska Airlines Arena before traveling to Eugene on Saturday (Nov. 22) to play Oregon at 6 p.m. PT at Matthew Knight Arena. Both matches will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• The Wolverines are coming off a big rivalry weekend at Crisler Center, sweeping Ohio State and Michigan State to earn their third straight sweep. On Friday (Nov. 14), U-M swept the Buckeyes for the second time this year behind a .337 hitting percentage. U-M followed it up with a sweep of the Spartans behind 10 blocks, marking Michigan's fourth win in a row and seventh in the past eight games.
• As a team, U-M ranks in the top five in the Big Ten in three categories as well as in the top half of the Big Ten for another six NCAA-tracked statistical categories. The Wolverines rank fifth in hitting percentage (.284), opponent hitting percentage (.203), and team kills (1,311). Michigan ranks 16th nationally in hitting percentage.
• Maddi Cuchran reached 1,000 career digs in Sunday's match against Michigan State. Her 1,003 career digs put her 38 away from 15th in program history. On her 1,000th dig, Cuchran also recorded the second kill in her career and her first since 2023. She is sixth in the Big Ten in total digs this season with 328. In her last 11 matches, Cuchran has double-digit digs nine times.
• Serena Nyambio totaled 11 kills with two errors over 21 total chances over the weekend, hitting .545 against Ohio State and .300 against Michigan State. Nyambio is now hitting .416 on the season, good for fourth in the conference and 18th in the nation. Nyambio added another seven blocks over the weekend, bringing her season total to 124, which is third in the Big Ten and 39th in the nation. The senior leads the Big Ten in conference games with a 1.39 blocks-per-set mark and is second in total blocks at 82.
• Jenna Hanes' .545 hitting percentage in the Michigan State game gave her a team-leading 10.5 points in the win. She had 11 kills over the weekend, bringing her season total to 153, good for fifth on the team. Hanes also collected nine blocks this weekend, which puts her at second on the team with 95 this year. Her 1.02 blocks per set place her at 19th in the Big Ten. In conference play, Hanes has just nine errors, which is good for a .494 hitting percentage.
• Top five in the conference in six NCAA-tracked statistical categories, Allison Jacobs ranks fifth in kills per set (3.93), points (435.5), points per set (4.54) and total kills (377). She ranks sixth in total digs (328) and third in total attacks (990). Jacobs also had 16 digs over the weekend, bringing her season total to 184, which is third on the team. She recorded her 1,000th career kill on Friday (Nov. 14) against Ohio State.
• Michigan's two setters, Morgan Burke and Camille Edwards, tallied double-digit assists in both matches, leading the team to a .337 hitting percentage against Ohio State and .312 against Michigan State. Edwards has played in the last 31 straight sets and recorded 14 assists in the win over Ohio State and 12 against Michigan State. Burke added 32 assists over the weekend, bringing her season total to 665, and she is just 46 away from entering eighth place in career assists.
• Cymarah Gordon and Ella Demetrician combined for 32 kills over the weekend. Gordon had three against Ohio State and eight against Michigan State, while Demetrician had 13 against Michigan State and seven against Michigan State. Over the last eight matches, Gordon has three kills in all of them with six or more in five of the eight, while Demetrician has 12 double-digit kill matches this season and has 157 kills in conference play, ranking second on the team.
• Washington enters the match 11-15 overall, and 6-10 in the Big Ten. The Huskies hold a notable ranked win over then No. 17 Penn State, but have since lost seven of their last nine matches. Michigan has only played Washington four times, with the series split. The two played in Ann Arbor last year, with U-M sweeping the Huskies.
• Oregon is 15-11 overall and 6-10 in the Big Ten. Oregon has three ranked wins, with its most notable being this past weekend against No. 9 Purdue in five sets. Michigan trails the series with Oregon 3-2, with the Wolverines' last win coming at home in 2016.
