
U-M to Trek to Columbus for B1G Swimming and Diving Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 10-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team (5-1, 2-1 Big Ten) will get its postseason underway when it travels to Columbus, Ohio, for the Big Ten Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. The four-day meet will begin on Wednesday (Feb. 19) and run through Saturday (Feb. 22). The championship meet will be streamed on B1G+. Â
Notes
• U-M leads all Big Ten teams with 17 team titles. The Wolverines last claimed the conference crown in 2018 in Columbus.
• The Maize and Blue will look to add to its 230 individual Big Ten titles since the event began in 1982. Michigan claimed three event wins in the 2024 meet.  Â
• Reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Year Stephanie Balduccini is primed for a strong encore performance at the conference championships. The sophomore ranks in the top four in the conference in three short-distance freestyle events, including a league-best 47.33 in the 100-yard freestyle.   Â
• Hannah Bellard leads the league in the 500-yard freestyle with an NCAA qualifying time of 4:34.77. The sophomore ranks third in the Big Ten in the 200-yard butterfly with a mark of 1:53.45. Â
• Natalie Kan and Brady Kendall lead the way for the butterfly group. Kan owns a 100-yard time of 52.04 while Kendall checks in with a mark of 52.09. Both marks rank inside the top five in the Big Ten.
• Letitia Sim has shined in her return from an Olympic redshirt year. Sim owns the third-best time in the 100-yard breaststroke in the Big Ten at 59.46.   Â
• The Wolverines return all four members from their Big Ten champion 400-yard freestyle relay team from 2024. Balduccini, Lindsay Flynn, Kendall and Claire Newman will look to defend their crown in Columbus. Â
• In diving, Kiarra Milligan will lead the charge for the Maize and Blue, holding top-five scores in the conference in both the one-meter and three-meter dive events.
