
Michigan Set to Host No. 12 Alabama in Final Regular-Season Meet

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 17-ranked University of Michigan women's gymnastics team (10-5) hosts its final regular-season meet when it welcomes No. 12 Alabama (5-9) to Crisler Center on Saturday (March 15) at 5:45 p.m. The Wolverines will honor their senior class after the meet against the Crimson Tide.

• The rank inside the top 20 on all four individual events: vault (18th), uneven bars (15th), beam (13th) and floor (16th).
• Michigan will compete on the podium inside Crisler Center for the first time in program history in a regular season meet when it hosts Alabama. Fans will get a sneak peek at how Crisler will be set up for the Big Ten Championships, hosted by the Wolverines on March 21-22.
• U-M will honor its seniors following the meet against the Crimson Tide. The Wolverines have four graduate students -- Carly Bauman, Reyna Guggino, Asta Farrell and Jenna Mulligan; one senior -- Jacey Vore -- and two senior student coaches -- Ashley Lane and Abigael Vides -- who will all be honored following the meet.
• Bauman was named a nominee for the AAI Award, considered the Heisman Trophy of gymnastics, which is presented annually to the nation's top senior women's gymnast. In the 33-year history of the award, four Michigan gymnasts have earned the honor -- Sierra Brooks (2023), Natalie Wojcik (2022), Kylee Botterman (2011) and Beth Wymer (1995).
• Michigan tied a season-best 49.400 on floor exercise at Oklahoma behind a career-best 9.925 from freshman Jahzara Ranger. Bauman recorded a 9.900 in the event to place second, while Sophia Diaz scored a 9.875. Michigan also saw a standout performance on the vault from sophomore Kayli Boozer, who scored a 9.900 with a stuck landing in just her second appearance in the lineup, while Mulligan also stuck her landing for a 9.900. Bauman finished the evening with two scores of 9.900 and led Michigan with a 9.900 on the beam.
• Boozer has won three event titles this season. She recorded her first career score of 9.900 or better at Washington, scoring a 9.900 to win a share of the beam title to earn the first title of her collegiate career. The Texarkana, Texas, native followed it up against Ohio State with a career-best 9.950, receiving a 10.0 from one judge, to earn her second straight title. Boozer also competes on floor and notched her first 9.900 against OSU to place second and matched it a week later against Nebraska. The sophomore continued to impress, scoring a 9.900 on the beam at Rutgers to notch her third career title on the event. In just her second career appearance on the vault, Boozer stuck her landing and scored a 9.900 against Oklahoma to tie for a Michigan best against Oklahoma. At the Big Ten Quad Meet, Boozer entered the vault lineup for the first time and scored a 9.850, the second-highest score for the Wolverines.
• Freshman Audrey Sanger made her second straight appearance in the floor lineup and scored a career-best 9.850 at Oklahoma. Sanger has also competed on uneven bars three times and scored a career-best 9.850.
• Michigan will host the Big Ten Championships on Friday and Saturday, March 21-22. The Wolverines will be in Session III with Michigan State, Minnesota and UCLA starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday inside Crisler Center. Fans can also buy tickets to the first two sessions which will be Friday, March 21, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 22, at noon.
