
Michigan to Host No. 21 USC for Thursday-Night Matchup

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 11-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team (5-3, 0-1 Big Ten) welcomes No. 21 USC (7-2, 0-1 Big Ten) to U-M Lacrosse Stadium on Thursday (March 20) at 6 p.m. for a Big Ten Conference contest.
Notes
• The Wolverines rank No. 11 nationally in the latest IWLCA Coaches Poll and will take on their fourth ranked opponent this season in No. 21 USC.
• Senior Ava Class had a career-best seven points in Michigan's game at Maryland (March 16). The senior midfielder scored six goals and added an assist. Class went 3-for-4 on free positions, while tying the game twice and giving Michigan its only lead of the game in the second quarter.
• Senior Julia Schwabe is just three points away from 100 career points. She would become just the ninth Wolverine in program history to reach the milestone, joining teammates Jill Smith and Kaylee Dyer. This season, Schwabe has 13 goals and six assists and is just six goals shy of tying her season-best 20 goals in 2024.
• Junior Grace Callahan scored her second career goal at Maryland. The defender raced down the field and took the ball straight to cage in the fourth quarter to score Michigan's final goal. Callahan also added one ground ball on the defensive side of the field.
• Senior Maya Rutherford is just four games away from tying the Michigan career games-played record of 70 and three games away from tying the Michigan career starts record of 69. Rutherford has started all 66 possible games in her career on the Michigan backline and has recorded 42 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers in her time on defense.
• A program-record four Wolverines were named to the 2025 Tewaaraton Watch List. Smith has been named to the list for the third time and O'Grady makes the list for the second straight season. Joining Smith and O'Grady are Dyer and Grace Callahan, who make their first career appearances on the list.
• U-M next travels to Ohio State for a 6 p.m. contest on Thursday (March 27). The game will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.
