
Maize and Blue Set for a Pair of Meets in North Carolina, Florida

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team will head to a pair of meets this weekend, splitting between Winston-Salem, N.C., for the Wake Forest Invitational on Thursday and Friday (April 18) and Gainesville, Fla., for the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational on Friday and Saturday (April 18-19).
Notes
• The distance squad will head to Wake Forest, and the rest of the team will head to Florida. Action in Winston-Salem will begin at 8:40 p.m. on Thursday and 1:30 p.m. on Friday, while action in Gainesville will begin at noon on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday.
• The 800-meter run group is once again in the latest USTFCCCA Rankings, moving up two spots to No. 4.
• A trio of Wolverines set top-10 program times in the 800-meter run, with Camden Law finishing first (1:46.89) to come in at No. 5 on the program performers list and set the meet record for the event. Trent McFarland finished fourth (1:47.50) and Brendan Herger finished seventh (1:47.96) for the No. 7 and No. 8 marks on the program performers list, respectively.
• Freshman Josh Huisman continues to have a strong season, setting a personal-best mark (18.39 meters; 60 feet, 4 inches) in the shot put to finish eighth and post the No. 8 mark on the program performers list. Aiden Felty finished 12th, throwing for a season-best mark of 17.32m (57-2.25).
• Lawrence Gilliam placed 24th with a time of 47.64 seconds to come 0.14 seconds short of his personal best. John O'Reilly placed 29th (48.15) and Jack Juds placed 33rd to set a new personal-best time (48.43).
• In the 200-meter dash, Corey Royster placed 16th with a time of 20.96 (+2.3m/s). The time would have been a personal best and tied for No. 7 on the program performers list, but it was not wind-legal.
• Liam Kinney and Cole Sheldon cleared 5.05m (16-6.75) in the pole vault to finish third and fourth, respectively, and set new personal-best marks for the second straight meet. The pair came just 0.03m short of the No. 10 mark on the program performers list.
