GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team concluded competition at the Tom Jones Invitational on Saturday (April 19) at Percy Beard Track.
Amit Rutman came just 0.07 seconds from his personal best in the 100-meter dash, finishing 29th with a time of 10.71 seconds.
In the 400-meter dash, Lawrence Gilliam finished 18th (47.87), Jack Juds finished 22nd (47.93) and Jacob Koerner finished 23rd (47.93). Juds set a new personal best.
Eli Winter had a solid day, placing sixth in the discus throw with a personal-best 52.58 meters (172 feet, 6 inches) and fourth in the hammer throw invite section (66.75m, 219-0).
Aiden Felty (17.91m, 58-9.25) and Zane Forist (17.76m, 58-3.25) finished sixth and eighth, respectively, in the shot put with season-best marks. Tianhao Wei won the triple jump with a mark of 15.52m (50-11, +3.2m/s).
The Wolverines will remain on the road next week, heading to Philadelphia, Pa., for the Penn Relays from Thursday through Saturday (April 24-26) at Franklin Field.
