» Senior Hunter Thomson closed his fourth Big Ten appearance by leading the Wolverines with a 218 total, tying for 32nd. Fellow senior Yuqi Liu followed closely, tying for 42nd with a 219 total.
» Playing in their first Big Ten Tournament, freshmen RJ Arone (222) and Dean Muratore (223) tied for 58th and 65th, respectively, while fifth-year senior Ben Hoagland tied for 83rd (229).

BALTIMORE, Md. -- With the entire 18-team field battling cold temperatures and gusting winds, the University of Michigan men's golf team tallied a 308 final-round score today (Sunday, April 27) to finish 15th with an 879 54-hole total at the Big Ten Championships at Baltimore Country Club's Five Farms East Course.
After opening with team rounds of 288 and 283, the Wolverines sat 12th after 36 holes. Facing gusts as high as 30 mph and cooler conditions, scoring rose nearly four strokes across the field during the final round. Michigan posted a 308 to close out the tournament in 15th place.
Senior leaders Hunter Thomson and Yuqi Liu paced U-M throughout the weekend. Thomson tied for 32nd at 218 (70-72-76) in his fourth Big Ten Championships appearance, while Liu tied for 42nd with a 219 total (71-69-79).
Among Michigan's first-time postseason competitors, RJ Arone tied for 58th at 222 (78-71-73), and Dean Muratore tied for 65th at 223 (72-71-80). Fifth-year senior Ben Hoagland rounded out the Wolverines' lineup, tying for 83rd with a 229 total (75-74-80).
Led by individual medalist Omar Morales (203, -7), UCLA rallied on the final day with a 282 team score to win the Big Ten title with an 842 total (278-282-282) in its first year in the conference. Illinois finished one stroke back at 843 (270-282-291), and Michigan State placed third at 854 (281-283-290).
With the Big Ten Championships complete, Michigan now shifts its focus to the NCAA Selection Show on Wednesday (April 30). The broadcast will air live on the Golf Channel at 1 p.m., where U-M will find out if it has earned a team or individual berth to an NCAA regional.
