Notes
• The Wolverines are 3-0, with wins over Wake Forest and Cincinnati over the weekend and most recently defeating Eastern Michigan. U-M took down the Demon Deacons and Bearcats in four sets before sweeping the Eagles in the home opener on Tuesday (Sept. 2). Michigan controlled the match against Eastern, hitting .548 in the first set and never trailing across the first two sets.
• Leading the Big Ten in points per set and ranking second in kills per set, Allison Jacobs has picked up where she left off after her All-Big Ten first team selection last season. Jacobs is averaging 5.82 points per set, which ranks 11th nationally and is fourth among Power Four schools. She has tallied a team-leading 54 kills on a .269 hitting percentage while adding eight aces and three blocks.
• All three setters on Michigan's roster have seen action this season and have led U-M to be ranked second in assists per set in the Big Ten and 13th nationally, averaging 13.91 per set. Junior Morgan Burke leads the way with 66 assists and ranks 10th all-time in career assists at U-M, needing 278 to reach 2,000. Camille Edwards played in the first two matches, tallying 33 assists over five sets. Ellie White has 28 assists over seven sets and recorded her first three career aces against Eastern Michigan.
• Lydia Johnson set a career high in kills with 13 against Cincinnati, and followed it up with seven kills and three blocks against Eastern Michigan. This season, Johnson is hitting .460, which is second in the Big Ten and 41st nationally. She ranks third on the team in kills with 24 and blocks with eight.
• Closing following Johnson, middle blocker Jenna Hanes holds a .458 hitting percentage this season, ranking third in the conference and 43rd nationally. She made her first career start in the season opener and has 25 kills across 11 sets while adding nine blocks.
• Serena Nyambio leads the Wolverines in blocks with 12 in 11 sets played for a 1.09 block-per-set average. Four of her blocks have been solo, while eight have been assisted. Nyambio has also added 16 kills on 32 swings and committed just two attack errors for a .438 hitting percentage.
• Amalia Simmons and Ella Demetrician have made impacts as the team's second outside hitter. Simmons started all three games, with her best coming against Cincinnati, recording her first career double-double (13 kills, 10 digs). This season, she has 20 kills on a .179 hitting percentage, along with 22 digs and three blocks over 10 sets. Demetrician came off the bench against Wake Forest to provide nine kills and seven digs in just a set and a half.
