
Michigan to Split Between Boston, Indianapolis Meets This Weekend

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team will split between a pair of meets this week, heading to Boston, Mass., for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday (Feb. 13) at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center, and Indianapolis, Ind., for the Heartland Invitational on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 13-14) at the Fall Creek Pavilion.

• U-M hits the road after hosting the Michigan Invitational on Feb. 7, and honoring its 16 seniors after the meet as a part of Senior Day.
• Action at the Heartland Invitational will begin at 3:10 p.m. on Friday with the 60-meter hurdles trials and 1:05 p.m. on Saturday with the 200-meter dash. The distance squad will send a contingent of Wolverines to Boston, with the 800-meter run set to open the day at 10:30 a.m.
• The Maize and Blue continues to sit at No. 2 in the USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region rankings.
• The 800-meter run event squad (John O'Reilly, Camden Law, Miles Brown and Henry Dixon) is No. 3 in the NCAA with an average time of 1:48.19. The mile run event squad (Trent McFarland, Brendan Herger, Riley Flemington and Dixon) remains at No. 5 in the NCAA with an average time of 3:56.47.
• At the Michigan Invite, Josh Huisman threw a personal-best 18.44 meters (60 feet, 6 inches) in the shot put for a third-place finish and No. 7 mark on the program performers list.
• O'Reilly won the 800-meter run with a personal-best time of 1:47.38, the No. 3 mark on the program performers list.
• In the mile run, Nathan Lopez finished first with a personal-best 4:00.64. Ian Hill (4:02.33), Marcus Reilly (4:05.78), Luke Venhuizen (4:08.02) and Aiden Sullivan (4:09.92) took third, fourth, fifth and seventh places, respectively. Reilly and Sullivan ran season bests, while Venhuizen ran a personal best.
• Three Wolverines ran in the 3,000-meter race, with Venhuizen (8:13.69) finishing first. Akili Parekh ran a season-best time of 8:28.43 to finish fourth, while Brennan McEwen posted a personal best of 8:30.39 to finish sixth.
• Michigan will return home next Friday (Feb. 20) to host the Silverston Invitational at the U-M Indoor Track Building in the team's indoor home finale.
