
Michigan Sets Three Top-10 Program Marks at Heartland Invitational

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team set three top-10 program marks on Friday (Feb. 13) at the Heartland Invitational at the Fall Creek Pavilion.
Amare Harlan set the first of two top-10 program marks in the long jump, winning the invite section with a personal best mark of 6.34 meters (20 feet, 9.75 inches). The mark is No. 4 on the program performers list. Maya Anderson also competed in the invite section, finishing sixth with a mark of 5.78m (18-11.75).
Kourtney Rathke made her long jump debut in the open section, finishing first with a mark of 6.02m (19-9) to enter the program performers list at No. 10.
In the 60-meter dash prelims, Keyanna O'Tey and Harlan both ran 7.45 seconds to finish 1-2 and advance to the finals. Harlan won the finals with a personal best mark of 7.38, the No. 4 time on the program performers list, while O'Tey was disqualified for a false start.
Chyler Turner ran 8.43 in the 60-meter hurdles prelims, advancing to the finals and finishing first with a time of 8.39.
Payton Smith won the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.68. Sidney Green placed fifth (55.11) and Trinity Henderson placed eighth (55.50).
In the weight throw invite section, Abigail Russell finished eighth with a mark of 18.02m (59-1.5).
The Maize and Blue will close out the weekend on Saturday (Feb. 14) at the Heartland Invitational and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Action in Indianapolis will open with the shot put at 9:30 a.m., while the 800-meter run will open the day in Boston, Mass., at 10:42 a.m.
