
U-M Set to Open Postseason at Big Ten Indoor Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team will open the postseason at the Big Ten Indoor Championships, Thursday through Saturday (Feb. 26-28) at Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis, Ind. The meet will be streamed live each day on B1G+.
Notes
• The meet begins at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday (Feb. 26) with the pentathlon, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday (Feb. 27) with the weight throw and long jump and at noon on Saturday (Feb. 29) with the shot put.
• Michigan remains No. 1 in the Great Lakes Region in the latest USTFCCCA rankings for the fourth straight week.
• The shot put squad (Elizabeth Tapper, Abigail Russell, Trinity Franklin and Janey Campbell) remains at No. 2 in the NCAA with an average distance of 16.04 meters (52 feet, 7.5 inches). The 800-meter run event squad (Emmry Ross, Stephanie Bertram, Coraline Haggarty and Alyna Lewis) sits at No. 8 in the NCAA with an average time of 2:05.66.
• The Maize and Blue tied for 10th at the 2025 Big Ten Championships, earning 31 points.
• Savannah Sutherland defended her title in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.74 seconds.
• In the 60-meter hurdles, Aasia Laurencin placed second with a time of 7.97, only 0.005 seconds behind first place. Her time set the St. Lucia national record.
• Tapper threw a program-record 18.26m (59-11) in the shot put for a third-place finish and six points. Samantha Hastie achieved a seventh-place finish in the 800-meter run (2:05.65) to score two points.
• The 4x400-meter relay team of Sidney Green, Amare Harlan, Sutherland and Trinity Henderson finished fourth with a time of 3:35.90, adding five points to Michigan's tally.
