
U-M to Honor Senior Class at Michigan Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team will return home to host the Michigan Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 7) at the U-M Indoor Track Building. Field events will begin at 10:30 a.m. while track events will begin at 11:30 a.m. Following the conclusion of the meet, the program will honor its 16 seniors as part of senior day activities.
Notes
• The Wolverines improved to No. 2 in the Great Lakes Region in the latest USTFCCCA rankings, sitting behind No. 1 Ohio State.
• The 800-meter run event squad (Camden Law, Miles Brown, John O'Reilly and Henry Dixon) is No. 3 in the NCAA with an average time of 1:48.37; the mile run event squad (Trent McFarland, Brendan Herger, Riley Flemington and Dixon) is No. 5 in the NCAA with an average time of 3:56.47; and the 400-meter dash event squad (Brown, Malachi Mosley, Will Barhite and O'Reilly) enters the rankings at No. 9 in the NCAA with an average time of 47.37 seconds.
• Michigan returns home after competing at the Razorback Invitational at Arkansas on Jan. 30-31, setting one program record and four top-10 program marks.
• McFarland won the mile run and set the program record time with a 3:52.73, the No. 4 time in the country and 14th on the NCAA all-time performers list.
• Four other Wolverines ran a sub-four-minute mile, with Herger finishing seventh (3:55.80), Flemington finishing 13th (3:58.82), Dixon placing 17th (3:59.30) and Law placing 19th (3:59.74). Herger's time ranks No. 5 on the program performance list.
• Brown's 400-meter dash time of 46.98 is No. 6 on the program's performance list, and Caleb Jarema's 3,000-meter run time of 7:52.61 is No. 4.
• Neil Howard and Tyler Baker made their heptathlon debuts, with Howard (5,723 points) finishing fourth to earn the No. 3 mark on the program performance list. Baker finished eighth with 4,978 points.
• The Wolverines will hit the road next weekend (Feb. 13-14), splitting between the Heartland Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind., and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass.
