
Huisman, O'Reilly Post Top-10 Program Marks at Michigan Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team set a pair of top-10 program marks as the host of the Michigan Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 7) at the U-M Indoor Track Building.
Josh Huisman placed third in the shot put with a personal-best mark of 18.44 meters (60 feet, 6 inches), the No. 7 mark on the program performers list, while John O'Reilly finished with a personal-best time of 1:47.38 to win the 800-meter run. O'Reilly's time was good for the No. 3 mark on the program performers list.
Kepler Huntress also competed in the 800 meters, finishing in sixth place with a time of 1:58.73.
In the mile run, Nathan Lopez crossed the finish line first, finishing with a personal-best time of 4:00.64. Ian Hill (4:02.33), Marcus Reilly (4:05.78), Luke Venhuizen (4:08.02) and Aiden Sullivan (4:09.92) took third, fourth, fifth and seventh places, respectively. Reilly and Sullivan ran season bests while Venhuizen ran a personal best.
Three Wolverines ran in the 3,000-meter race, with Venhuizen (8:13.69) finishing first. Akili Parekh achieved a season best of 8:28.43 for a fourth-place finish and Brennan McEwen posted a personal best of 8:30.39 to finish sixth.
Cole Sheldon (5.01m/16-5.25) and Liam Kinney (4.71m/15-5.5) finished fifth and seventh in the pole vault, respectively. Sheldon came just 0.04 meters shy of his personal best.
The Wolverines honored their 16 seniors following the conclusion of the meet.
U-M will hit the road for a pair of meets next Friday and Saturday (Feb. 13-14), heading to Indianapolis, Ind., for the Heartland Invitational and Boston, Mass., for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
