
Tapper Set to Represent Wolverines at NCAA Indoor Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Elizabeth Tapper of the University of Michigan women's track and field team will represent the Wolverines in the shot put at the NCAA Indoor Championships on Saturday (March 14) at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark. The meet will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Notes
• The preliminaries for the shot put will begin at 2:45 p.m. CT on Saturday, with the top nine advancing to the finals.
• This will be Tapper's second straight NCAA Championships appearance, after finishing 12th in the shot put with a throw of 16.90 meters (55 feet, 5.5 inches) last season.
• Tapper placed fourth in the shot put at the 2026 Big Ten Indoor Championships with a season-best mark of 17.38m (57-0.25).
• The Maize and Blue tied for 28th at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships, scoring points in the 400-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles. Savannah Sutherland placed fourth in the 400-meter dash with a program and Canadian record time of 51.23 seconds, while Aasia Laurencin finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.09.
