ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 4-ranked University of Michigan men's gymnastics team knocked off No. 3 Nebraska, 330.400-325.650, on Sunday afternoon (March 22) at Cliff Keen Arena to secure the Big Ten regular-season championship.
With the win, Michigan claims the title outright after sharing it in 2025, marking the sixth regular-season conference crown in program history. Following the meet, the team honored its four seniors for their dedication to the program.
Michigan (11-1, 4-0 B1G) and Nebraska (8-5, 2-2 B1G) kept it close throughout the meet, but the Huskers were never able to take the lead. After a shaky floor rotation and a fall on the pommel horse, the Wolverines responded with a season-high still rings score of 54.250 and took a 1.200-point lead at the halfway point. A season-high vault score from both teams cut U-M's lead to 0.700 points, but strong performances on parallel bars and high bar allowed the Maize and Blue to widen the gap and secure the win.
The Wolverines' 330.400 is a season high and the second-best score in the nation this season. U-M picked up four event titles, with Charlie Larson scoring a season-high 14.700 to take the floor title, Aaronson Mansberger winning his fifth pommel horse title this season (14.150), and Fred Richard claiming both the parallel bars (14.150) and high bar (14.400) titles with season-high performances.
How it Happened
Rotation 1
Despite Jake Islam and Landen Blixt stepping out of bounds, the pair both recorded sticks to open the floor exercise with scores of 13.600 and 13.750, respectively. Islam's score was just 0.500 points shy of his season high. Richard struggled with a fall to earn a 12.800, but a dominant season-high performance of 14.700 from Larson put the Wolverines ahead.
Michigan led 54.850-53.900.
Rotation 2
Zach Granados opened the pommel horse with a strong 13.800 before an 11.950 from Kyle Walchuk due to a fall. Nebraska put together a solid rotation (54.200), but a crucial 13.900 from Richard and 14.150 from Mansberger allowed the Wolverines to maintain their lead.
U-M (108.650) led Nebraska (108.100) by 0.550 points.
Rotation 3
Robert Noll came just 0.500 points shy of his career high with a 13.500 to open still rings. A 13.900 from Richard and a 13.950 from Akshay Puri to close the rotation lifted U-M to a season-high 54.250. Despite Nebraska's event-winning 14.700 from Asher Cohen, Michigan widened the gap.
Michigan led 162.900-161.700.
Rotation 4
Blixt (14.200) and Larson (14.350) put Michigan in a strong position midway through the rotation before Richard posted a 13.800 in his season debut on vault. Chase Pappas recorded a career-high 14.500 in the anchor spot, giving U-M a season-high vault score of 56.850. Nebraska matched with a season-high 57.350, but Michigan maintained the edge.

Michigan led 274.500-273.000.
Rotation 6
Wolfgang opened high bar with a 13.900, just 0.100 shy of his career high. Despite a fall, Eshleman posted a 13.250 before Blixt delivered a career-high 14.350 to extend the lead. Richard closed with a season-high 14.400, pushing the team to a season-high 55.900 on high bar and sealing the win.
