Notes
• Michigan is coming off a series loss to Nebraska, opening with a 2-0 win before dropping the final two games, 10-0 and 9-5. Kurt Barr highlighted the weekend with a dominant Friday outing, striking out 10 across seven innings. The Wolverines have found success in midweek play this season, earning wins over Western Michigan (3-2) and Michigan State (2-0) at Ray Fisher Stadium.
• Brayden Jefferis paced the Wolverines at the plate against Nebraska, hitting .364 with four hits and two RBIs while starting all three games at third base. He ranks second on the team with a .289 average, adding 12 runs, 24 hits and nine RBIs. Jefferis also leads Michigan in on-base percentage (.404), fueled by 11 walks and five hit-by-pitches.
• Colby Turner reached base in all three games over the weekend, totaling three hits and two walks. He doubled in the series finale and continues to lead Michigan in multiple offensive categories, including batting average (.345), runs (16), hits (30), RBIs (21) and total bases (52). Turner is the team's only player with double-digit extra-base hits, recording seven doubles and five home runs.
• Brenden Stressler returned to the lineup Friday after appearing in just one of the previous six games. After not reaching base in his return, he responded with a single in Game 2 and a strong finale that included a home run and two walks. Sunday also marked his first defensive appearance since March 3. Stressler is batting .357 with a .429 on-base percentage and .482 slugging percentage, along with 10 runs and 10 RBIs.
• Greg Pace Jr. was one of six Wolverines with multiple hits over the weekend and was the only one with multiple runs. Pace reached base four times with two hits, one walk and one hit by pitch -- allowing him to score twice. The redshirt junior trails just behind Jefferis in on-base percentage at .403 and has a .288 average this year with 17 hits and 11 runs.
• Gavin DeVooght has emerged as one of the Big Ten's top relievers, recording six saves in 12 appearances -- both among the top marks in the conference. DeVooght trails Adam Troy of USC for the Big Ten lead and is fourth nationally -- trailing Troy and two others, who all have seven saves. He is the only Big Ten pitcher with more than 10 appearances (12) and at least 20 innings pitched. Max Debiec is tied with DeVooght at 12 appearances this season, matching DeVooght for the team lead.
• Oakland enters Tuesday's matchup at 4-17, though three of its four wins have come over the past two weekends. The Golden Grizzlies have faced a challenging schedule that includes eight ranked opponents, highlighted by No. 9 Georgia. Michigan holds a 32-6 all-time record against Oakland, winning each of the last two meetings and seven of the past 10.
•Toledo holds a 10-11 record and is coming off a series loss to Central Michigan over the weekend. The Rockets opened the season with a win at Memphis and have wins over Lipscomb, UMass, Northern Kentucky, Northern Illinois and CMU. All-time, the Wolverines hold a 44-14-1 record against Toledo and are riding a four-game winning streak, with a 6-4 and 10-0 win last season.
