
Five U-M Divers to Head to Ypsilanti for NCAA Zone C Diving Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Five divers from the University of Michigan swimming and diving team will make the short dive to Ypsilanti, Mich., for the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships to earn the right to compete at the NCAA Championships. The three-day meet will get underway on Monday (March 9) at Jones Natatorium on the campus of Eastern Michigan University.
Notes
• Monday will feature the men's one-meter and women's three-meter dives starting at noon. The women will transition to the one-meter springboard while the men compete on the three-meter board on Tuesday (March 10) at noon. Platform dive will close out the meet on Wednesday (March 11), starting at noon.
• The men will battle for eight qualification spots in the one-meter dive, while the women will compete for seven berths. In the three-meter dive, 10 spots are available for the men and 10 for the women. On the platform, the men will vie for nine NCAA berths, and the women will have 10 spots available. Â
• Three men's divers will make the trip to EMU, led by Big Ten champion Emmitt Reesor. Reesor posted a three-meter score of 398.50 to capture the program's first conference title since 2020 and first in the event since 1979.
• Sophomore Julian Cardenas improved dramatically in his second year with the program, reaching either a championship or consolation final in all three events at the Big Ten Championships. Â
• Rounding out the men's team is Logan Hepner. The junior ranks in the top 10 in the platform dive with a score of 349.50 set at the Tennessee Invitational in November.
• Kiarra Milligan will lead the way for the women's team in her final season with the program. Milligan owns the third-best score in the conference with the one-meter dive with a mark of 333.55 at the Tennessee Invitational. Â
• Freshman Aoi Kondo will make her zone championships debut, qualifying for the event in all three dive specialities. Â
