Notes
• Michigan is No. 6 in the latest USILA poll after its seventh straight win -- a victory over No. 25 Ohio State. The Wolverines have beaten six ranked opponents this season, including then-No. 5 Florida and then-No. 6 Boston College.
• U-M improved to 4-0 in Big Ten play for the first time in program history with its win over the Buckeyes.
• Michigan's backline ranks No. 9 nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 7.83 goals per game. The Wolverines did not give up a goal for more than 20 minutes against No. 20 Denver, and Oregon went over 30 minutes without scoring. Most recently, Michigan had seven caused turnovers against Ohio State, with Jordyn Harrison causing four and having two ground balls, while Elizabeth Johnson made 11 stops in the cage for her fourth double-digit save effort of the season.
• Sophomore Emma Burke now holds the program draw-control record with 252 wins. She broke Anna Schueler's previous record of 239 from 2014-17, having tallied 135 in her freshman season and has 117 thus far as a sophomore. Burke ranks ninth nationally with 9.75 draws per game and leads the Big Ten this season. Before eclipsing the program record, Burke broke her own standing single-game record against Central Michigan. The midfielder won 22 draw controls against the Chippewas, single-handedly outdrawing CMU 22-11 and winning all but two draws in the game. Burke's 22 draw-control wins also rank third all-time in NCAA single-game history, alongside Haley Wagner of Marist (April 27, 2019).
• Senior Grace Callahan needs just eight ground balls to surpass the Michigan all-time record of 111 set by Maddie Burns in 2024. Callahan has 18 ground balls so far this season and has recorded 30 ground balls in the last two seasons. The defender also has 75 caused turnovers and needs just six more the rest of the season to set the single-season program mark of 80 set by Madeline Dion in 2017. Callahan tied the Michigan single-game record with six caused turnovers against Oregon and ranks seventh in the conference in caused turnovers this season.
• The Michigan trio of Ava Class, Callahan and Calli Norris were named to the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Watch list. Callahan earned a spot on the list for the second straight season, while it is the first appearance for Class and Norris.
• Michigan will return to U-M Lacrosse Stadium to close out its regular season when the Wolverines host Maryland and Northwestern. Michigan and Maryland will meet Thursday, April 16, at 8 p.m. on Big Ten Network before the U-M welcomes the Wildcats on Saturday, April 18, at 6 p.m., also on Big Ten Network.
