
Wolverines to Open Postseason at B1G Outdoor Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team will open postseason competition at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships hosted by Nebraska, Friday through Sunday (May 15-17), at the Nebraska Outdoor Track.
Notes
• The Wolverines sit at No. 2 in the Great Lakes Region and No. 12 in the Big Ten in the latest USTFCCCA rankings.
• Michigan's 1,500-meter squad (Trent McFarland, Brendan Herger, Henry Dixon and Riley Flemington) comes in at No. 2 in the NCAA while the 800-meter squad (Camden Law, Herger, John O'Reilly and Miles Brown) is ranked No. 5.
• U-M tied for 11th at the 2025 Big Ten Outdoor Championships with 32 points.
• Amit Rutman, Krish Gupta, Jacob Koerner and Corey Royster took down a 47-year-old record in the 4x100-meter relay, finishing seventh in 39.87 seconds.
• The Maize and Blue picked up nine points in the 1,500-meter run behind a fourth-place finish from Trent McFarland (3:53.82) and a fifth-place finish from Brendan Herger (3:54.21).
• Caleb Jarema took home silver in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:42.53.
• In the hammer throw, Eli Winter earned a sixth-place finish with a mark of 66.64 meters (218 feet, 8 inches) while Josh Huisman placed fifth (18.88m/61-11.5) in the shot put.
• Nolan Clark and Luke Venhuizen cracked the top 10 on the program performers list in the 5,000-meter run, coming in at No. 6 (13:43.57) and No. 10 (13:48.38).
