Trevor Foshey was hired as the assistant coach of the Michigan men's tennis program in September 2023.
In his first season, he helped the Wolverines to an appearance in the NCAA Tournament after finishing as the runners-up in the Big Ten. During the fall, the Wolverines qualified for the ITA National Indoor Championship after winning the ITA Kick-Off. The squad opened B1G play in the spring on a seven-match win streak and kept a 20+ year win streak over Michigan State in tact to finish second in the league standings. It was another win over the Spartans that led the Wolverines to its third straight B1G Tournament Championship. Michigan reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament and qualified first-team All-B1G selection Gavin Young to the NCAA Singles Championship. Both he and Jacob Bickersteth also qualified for the NCAA Doubles Championship.

Foshey came to Ann Arbor from Liberty University, where he was associate head coach from 2015-19. In four seasons with the Flames, he coached the squad to a 58-34 overall record and back-to-back Atlantic Sun championships.

During his first year, he helped the team defeat a Big Ten opponent for the first time in program history with a 5-2 win over Penn State, and its first win against an ACC with a 4-3 decision over Virginia Tech.

After collecting a perfect 12-0 record at home in 2021 the Flames posted a its first 20-win season, going 20-7 en route to the conference championship. The Flames repeated as ASUN champions in 2022 and captured the conference’s regular-season title in 2023 before winning the inaugural NIT Championship.

Foshey’s athletes earned seven all-conference selections including three first-team selections. He coached the 2021 Player of the Year Nicaise Muamba and two sets of Doubles Pairs of the Year in Deji Thomas-Smith and Christiaan Worst in 2021 and Muamba and Rafael Marques Da Silva in 2022.

 A 2019 graduate of Mississippi State, Foshey won two SEC tournament titles with the Bulldogs in 2018 and 2019 as the team finished in the top 10 of the ITA final rankings both years (No. 5 in 2018 and No. 9 in 2019). During his four seasons, Foshey won 75 doubles matches and reached as high as No. 7 in the rankings. He won 64 career singles matches and reached a personal best of No. 93 in the rankings.

A native of St. Cloud, Florida, Foshey was the MVP of the SEC Tournament in 2018. He qualified for the NCAA Doubles Championship in 2017 as an at-large and won his opening match. An ITA regional singles finalist, he was also a two-time ITA regional doubles finalist. Earning two ITA Scholar-athlete honors, Foshey graduated with a degree in kinesiology.
