J.R. Epley joined the University of Michigan Olympic Sport Strength and Conditioning Staff as a graduate assistant in June 2015. Prior to assisting the Michigan staff, J.R. served for two years at the University of Nebraska Omaha, working primarily with the volleyball, track and field, softball and golf teams.
Before UNO, he spent three years at the National Strength & Conditioning Association’s World Headquarters in Colorado Springs, working in the Certification and Coaching Performance departments.
J.R. also served as the Colorado College men’s lacrosse strength and conditioning coach, helping them to a 25-3 record in two seasons, including a 15-0 regular-season mark and the first NCAA tournament bid in program history.
His first strength and conditioning experience came in 1999 at the University of Nebraska, overseeing the cheerleading and scarlets dance teams while also volunteering with the football team.
J.R. is originally from Lincoln, Nebraska.
SPORT ASSIGNMENTS: Direct and coordinate PRI implementation for all Olympic sports.
