Minnesota secured the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. Michigan sent the No. 2 doubles match into a tie-breaker, winning 7-5 in the tie-breaker to thwart a Minnesota doubles sweep. Senior co-captain Danielle Lund (Leominster, Mass./Leomonster HS) and junior Szandra Fuzesi (Budapest, Hungary/Balassi Balint Gimnazium) claimed the 9-8 victory as they came back from a 7-3 deficit in the match.
In singles, the Wolverines managed wins at the No. 1 and No. 5 spots. Senior co-captain Brooke Hart (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson HS) won a convincing 6-2, 6-2 match against Nora Sauska at the top spot, while freshman Jen Duprez (Westhampton, N.Y./Westhampton Beach HS) claimed a 7-6, 6-3 victory over Michaela Havelkova at the No. 5 spot.
Michigan continues conference action next Saturday (March 25, 1 p.m.) against intrastate rival Michigan State. The Wolverines travel to the MSU Tennis Facility and look to win their 12th straight against the Spartans (28-15 all-time series advantage for U-M).
