The win snaps a five-game losing streak and gives the Wolverines (16-25-1) a winning record (7-6) at home. Michigan has played just 13 of 42 games at home this season. Oakland (19-26) suffered a tough loss, outhitting the host Wolverines by a 12-6 margin.
Michigan sophomore LHP Kirk Taylor (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington HS) worked a career-best seven innings to collect his second win of the season (2-0). He dropped his ERA to a team-leading 3.26. Junior LHP Nick Alexander (Alpena, Mich./Alpena HS) worked a 1-2-3 ninth to record his first save of the year.
Oakland grabbed leads of 1-0 and 2-1 with SS Chris Kimball in the middle of the Golden Grizzlies offense. He singled in the first run in the top of the second inning and scored the second run on a two-out double by 2B Erik Crossley in the fourth inning.
Bobeda homered to lead off the second inning to tie the game at 1-1. In the fifth inning with two outs, Parrish ripped his 10th double of the year to left-center and Bobeda followed with his second homer for the eventual game-winning hit.
Bobeda also played a major role on defense in the seventh inning. After two outs, Oakland's Kip Harris doubled and tried to score from second on a single by 3B Rob Brockman. Bobeda got the ball to SS Bill LaRosa (Rochester, Mich./Adams HS) and he fired a strike to freshman catcher Alex Coleman (Dallas, Texas/Lake Highlands HS) for a 7-6-2 putout to end the inning.
LaRosa added another field gem as he turned a 6-3 double play in the eighth inning. He was covering the bag on a steal attempt and took a hard grounder, stepped on second for the force and fired the ball to first. LaRosa handled 10 chances (three putouts and seven assists) without an error vs. Oakland.
Michigan returns to action Wednesday (May 3) evening in the first game under the lights at Eastern Michigan's Oestrike Stadium. Junior RHP Vince Pistilli (Highland, Ind./Highland HS), 4-5 with a 4.31 ERA, is the Wolverines' probable starter on the mound.

Senior tri-captain Rob Bobeda (DeWitt, Mich./DeWitt HS), playing is his 142nd career game Tuesday (May 2) vs. Oakland, collected his 34th career multiple-hit game.
Sophomore LHP Kirk Taylor helped his cause on defense in the fourth inning vs. Oakland. With the score 1-1, OU had runners on first and second with no outs. Taylor picked up a bunt and forced the runner at third for the first out and then picked the runner off second for the second out. He gave up a run-scoring double, but allowed just one run in the frame.
Freshman catcher Alex Coleman also chipped in on defense, throwing out a potential base stealer at third base in the first inning and making the tag play at the plate on the 7-6-2 relay from SS Bill LaRosa to keep the 3-2 lead in the seventh inning.
