DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Steady rains caused the postponement of the University of Michigan baseball team's Friday night (Feb. 28) game vs. Bethune-Cookman College at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday with the game time set at noon. Saturday's original starting time was 1 p.m.
Sophomore LHP Drew Taylor (Toronto, Ontario/Upper Canada College) will most likely start the first game of the twinbill. Taylor is 0-0 (2.45 ERA) and was the probable starter for Friday's rainout. Junior RHP Jim Brauer (Carmel, Ind./Carmel HS) or junior RHP Bobby Garza (Southgate, Mich./Anderson HS) would probably start the second game. Brauer is 0-0 (5.79) and Garza is 1-0 (4.50).
Head coach Rich Maloney's Wolverines are 1-4 on the spring trip and are schedule to head home on Sunday. Michigan is scheduled to play a three-game series at Oklahoma next weekend (March 7-9).
