Michigan completed the season with a 46-14 overall record and finished 26-5 in conference to capture its third straight Big Ten Conference title (35th in program history) and set a Big Ten record for regular-season conference victories, while also winning the Big Ten Tournament.
"This was another great year for this baseball team," said Maloney, now 237-126 in six seasons at Michigan. "I have just been so pleased with the commitment from our squad and especially from the athletic department administration.
"From the opening of the Wilpon Baseball Complex all the way until the NCAA Regional, this was one of the most exciting years in coaching for me personally."
Playing in their newly renovated $9 million stadium, the Wolverines put together a 22-4 home record and hosted an NCAA Regional for the first time since 1986, marking the fourth straight year U-M reached the NCAA Tournament field. The Wolverines also won more than 40 games for the fourth consecutive season.
