The Wolverines are 0-2 for the first time since 2006.
Michigan is 4-4 in the third year of the Big Ten/Big East Challenge. U-M was 3-0 in 2009 and 1-2 in 2010.
Sophomore CF Patrick Biondi collected his first hit of the season, leading off the first inning with a knock. Biondi was 4-for-5 with a double for his 22nd career multi-hit game, and he has four career four-hit games.
Biondi, who is hitting .500 (4-for-8), singled in the third inning and collected his 30th career stolen base.
Junior catcher/DH Coley Crank notched his first hit of the season with a double in the fourth inning, his 20th career two-base hit. Crank was 2-for-4 with two walks and two runs scored for his 27th career multi-hit game and he has 17 two-hit games as a Wolverine.
Freshman RF Michael O'Neill, who is hitting .500 (3-for-6), became the first Wolverine to get hits in the first two games of the season with his RBI single in the fourth inning. O'Neill collected his first extra-base hit with a double in the ninth.
Sophomore SS Derek Dennis was 2-for-4, collecting his first two hits of the season. Dennis has 11 career two-hit games and 14 multi-hit games.
Junior 3B John Lorenz extended his career-best hitting streak to 16 games with a run-scoring single in the ninth inning.
Senior co-captain 2B Anthony Toth extended his hitting streak to seven games with a ninth-inning single. The streak includes the final five games of 2010.
Freshman Cole Martin made his first start for U-M, while John DiLaura, Adam Robinson, Alex Lakatos and Ryan Kopf all made their first appearance in the Maize and Blue.
