Sophomore CF Patrick Biondi, who is hitting .301 (59-for-196), was 2-for-4 with two singles as he extended his current hitting streak to five games.
Biondi's two-hit game was his fifth straight and team-leading 18th multi-hit game of the season. He has 39 career multi-hit games.
Freshman OF/RHP Alex Lakatos, who is hitting .277 (33-for-119), was 2-for-4 while starting as the leftfielder. Lakatos has nine multi-hit games this season, including six two-hit games and three three-hit games.
Freshman RF Michael O'Neill, who is hitting .306 (60-for-196) to lead the team, was 1-for-3 with a first-inning single, a sac fly, a stolen base and one run batted in. O'Neill has hits in 41 of his 49 games this season and he has a five-game hit streak.
O'Neill, with one stolen base, has 25 for the season to pull one ahead OF Patrick Biondi, who has 24 steals for the season. O'Neill is four stolen bases behind the U-M rookie record for steals in a season set by Biondi (29, 2010) last season.
O'Neill is second on the team with 26 RBI.
Junior LF/catcher/DH Coley Crank, who is hitting .254 (45-for-177), was 1-for-4 with a second-inning single.
Crank has hits in 22 of his last 30 games and nearly half his 45 hits have been for extra bases (22), including 14 doubles, one triple and seven homers.
Freshman 1B Brett Winger, who is hitting .269 (14-for-52), was 1-for-2 with a third-inning double and a hit-by-pitch. Winger, who scored U-M's lone run, has hits in six of his last seven overall games.
Winger has a seven-game hitting streak in Big Ten play.
